Mock interviews give ACHS seniors real-world experience

More than 150 Arkansas City High School seniors recently participated in mock job interviews with community volunteers. The event helped students build confidence, practice professional communication, and prepare for their next steps after graduation.

ACHS Launches Hall of Fame to Honor Distinguished Alumni

Arkansas City High School has announced the creation of the ACHS Hall of Fame, a new program celebrating graduates who have made a difference through their careers and community service.

“By connecting with our past, we hope to inspire current students to chase their career and civic goals, whether that’s right here at home or abroad,” said Program Coordinator Eric Burr.

The first induction will take place in October 2026, honoring two alumni each year, one local and one living outside Cowley County. Nominations are open now, and community members are invited to help shape the program by serving on the Selection Committee.

ACHS Students Build Leadership Skills at Boys and Girls State

This summer, five Arkansas City High School students participated in Kansas Boys State and Girls State, where they gained hands-on experience in government, leadership, and civic responsibility.

From serving as mayors and senators to discovering new career goals, each student came home with new skills, lasting friendships, and lessons that will stay with them long after high school.
